I have had the absolute pleasure of taking these 3 kids' pics for the last couple years now and I have loved every minute of it! Colton and Brooklynn may look familiar as I've posted many "twins" posts about them in the past. The "O" Family

What crazy weather we had the day of this session. It had been clear all day...just perfect. Then, it started to rain - about 1/2 hour before the session. And, it rained...and rained. Finally, after driving away from the rain, we had a break. Clear skies. Luckily, the entire family (kids included) were so patient and in great moods. It's not very often that an extended family session goes this well. Usually, there's at least one person in the group who just does NOT want to be there. But, not this time. Every one was up for anything...with a smile on there faces :) Thank you all for making my job easier! Here's the "O" family:

The "K" Family

Wow! You know you're behind...WAY behind...on blog posts when the kids are wearing flip flops in the pictures :) Oh well! It was a crazy Summer and Fall trying to get ready for our new arrival and dealing with another difficult pregnancy. All is well and we're back to our "normal" life. So, it's time to get caught back up.

This blog post is showcasing Mason, an oh so sweet newborn and his big brother, Hunter - one of the sweetest big brothers of all time. I have really gotten to the point where I enjoy newborn sessions. They are challenging, yes. But, so rewarding with the outcome of priceless images. And, I will always love working with toddlers. I love all their little (and big) personalities. Check out these cuties...

Mini sessions

Mini sessions will be held this Friday (the 21st) in the evening and Saturday (the 22nd) in the morning and evening. These mini sessions are 30 minute sessions including 10-15 fully edited color and black/white images on CD with print release. Cost is $95. They will be held in studio (with black background/wood floor) or outdoor at our home - weather permitting. Outdoor options will be field with or without red couch, junk trucks, white weathered barn wood door and whatever else we come up with :). These mini sessions will fill up fast, so contact me soon. Slots are limited and they are first come first serve. Send me a message if you'd like to set your time. I can message you back with the times available. Remember - Christmas cards are right around the corner. Be prepared and ahead of the game. Hope to see you there!

Please make note - Kerry Lee Photography will be closed during the months of November and December. Exceptions for newborn portrait sessions, emergency family sessions (due to health issues, military families reuniting, etc.) and baby plan members. We are on the home stretch of our 3rd pregnancy and those of you who know us personally, know that my pregnancies are not the most ideal. But, we're getting close to the end and so far, all is well. I have lots of appointments, NSTs and ultrasounds in the weeks ahead. I would like to thank all my wonderful clients for being so incredibly patient during these last few weeks. Thank you also for all the check-ups and prayers. I'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as the little bundle arrives :)

One more thing - I feel awful that I am not going to be available for Christmas pictures this year (during the month of November/December). If you're wanting Christmas card pics and would be interested in a mini-session, possibly held on a Saturday, shoot me a message. The cost would be $95. Avery - one year portrait session

There are just "those" sessions where I feel like there's a real connection between myself and the little guy or gal I'm photographing. This was definitely one of "those"! Avery and I had a great time just having fun. It took her a little time to warm up, but once she did...we had a blast! She was such a little flirt with the camera. I love that! Believe it or not, these are just a "few" of my favorites from her session. It was difficult to even narrow it down to this number. Thanks for allowing me to spend time with Avery, capturing her one year pics. She's a keeper :)

Owen - newborn portrait session

I love newborn sessions. They are incredibly unpredictable - sometimes long and full of patience, yet so amazingly rewarding. They're are just some sessions that you can't do over and newborn sessions are one of them. They still that little for such a short amount of time. Little Owen was almost a month early, so was truly a little peanut. It's funny though - you would think that the little ones sleep the best and curl the best. That's not always the case. Owen did a great job, but didn't necessarily sleep through any/every thing. Check out his skinny little ribs - too cute! He was so sweet! Here are some of my favorites from his session...

Ory - 1 year portrait session

Ory came to see me for his one year session. Now, just some background...his mom is a photographer too, so yeah - no pressure :) Ory came with his mom, dad, aunt and grandma. Obviously, he had quite the audience. Again, no pressure. Now, to be completely honest, when the "whole" family comes for a session I usually get nervous. Many not so great things can happen. #1 - everyone (on all different sides of the room of course) call out the little subject's name and the poor kid gets distracted and looks any/every where but at the camera. haha #2 - after about 20 minutes, the "extras" start to get bored and want to know when we'll be done. again, haha #3 - everyone has a different opinion on outfits, backgrounds, props, etc. hehe It's not always the best case scenario. Now, back to Ory's session. Yes, it appeared he had quite the audience. What I soon discovered was that they were, in fact, the entertainment! Mom, dad, aunt and grandma (all so obediently standing directly behind me) were pure entertainment. It was almost rehearsed :) Songs, dance, books, toys...who knows what else went on behind me, but bottom line...it worked - like a charm! I'm still waiting to hear back as to whether they're for hire :) It was quite obvious that Ory had quite the fan club and rightfully so. What a sweet little boy. Take a look at his adorable facial expressions and his awesome outfits! Loved his hat and tie! Thank you ALL for taking the time to come out and help with Ory's one year session. It was an absolute pleasure.

Yet again, trying to get caught up on blog posts. For some reason (maybe it's the pregnancy, not sure), blog posts have been my struggle this summer. I know they're great advertisement and they show all the new props and ideas, but man - it's been my struggle lately. I greatly apologize. Please know that I'm still working (as I keep hearing "sorry to bug you"). I am feeling well and enjoying my time capturing memories for all my wonderful clients. Please keep coming! I will miss you if you stop "bugging me" :) I have no plan on taking any time off (Lord willing) before the baby makes her appearance. And, if all goes well, I may take a little time off afterward, but not much. If I remember right, I maybe took 2 or 3 weeks off with our last. So, again, please know that I am still open for business and would love to work with you all! Heck - I need to be able to afford this baby! haha Thank you to all my great clients for yet another fun summer. It was fun working with you all! Jennifer - maternity session

Once in a great while, a newborn comes and refuses to sleep. Yep, that was baby John. No matter what we did, he did not want to miss a thing. So, you know it's bad when your Mom calls and asks whether you're posting pictures on a different site because you clearly haven't posted in quite a while. For those of you who know (and those of you who don't, but care to), this has been a very busy time for our family. School let out, the boys and I went camping, demolition began on our kitchen (it seriously looks like the inside of a barn - yikes!) and lots of pregnancy appointments, etc. Are these just excuses...you bet :) But, let's have some fun making up for lost time, shall we? Hadley Joy is so full of personality and sweetness...I can't fully describe it. Although, I think her pictures show just how sweet she is. She is truly and angel...and 1/2 :) Believe me. Connor - 18 months

I seem to constantly reassure parents that there are 2 sessions that seem to be the most challenging. 3 month sessions are usually a challenge because there's not a lot that the baby is doing at that age. There's just not a ton of variety...usually. The other session I tend to find somewhat difficult is the 18 month session. See, at this age, there's TOO MUCH to do! :) Connor was not a disappointment. Busy as can be! But, I like a challenge. I truly do. He kept us on our toes, that's for sure. Needless to say, I captured a lot of back shots...Connor running away, Connor walking away, Connor climbing, etc. I love how each age has it's highlights. At 18 months, it's just being busy. Have no fear. We were able to ground him for some face shots too. Here's a preview of his session.

Leandra - 9 months

Leandra is one of my beloved baby plan members, so I have had the joy of seeing her make leaps and bounds during her 3 month, 6 month and now, her 9 month session. Poor Leandra has struggled with a lot of painful reflux issues, but thankfully has overcome the painful side of that and has turned into an extremely happy little girl. Brooklynn & Colton - one year

Oh, how time flies! It seems like just yesterday, I was taking the twins' newborn pictures. Take a look at that blog post http://kerryleephotography.blogspot.com/2010/02/twins-real-deal.html . They were sooooo tiny! They have grown so much and are now these sweet, funny, adorable toddlers. It cracks me up when they come. For their newborn pics, Brooklynn was the "easy" one. For their 3 month, it was pretty even if I remember right. For their 9 month, Brooklynn was the little flirt and this time, for their one year, Colton stole the show. But, really, they both warm up at every session and really know how to "work" the camera. Colton, with those big brown eyes - amazing! And Brooklynn, with her sweet little curls and shyness - too cute! Their sessions are always crazy, busy and completely entertaining. Their mom and dad work hard to keep them in place and wipe the occasional tears. They occupy them with snacks and toys...dancing and singing. I love working with them all! Braxton - 3 months

Braxton came for her 3 month session with her Mom and Grandma. They warned me that she wasn't the happy little baby I had photographed during her newborn session. Yes, she had her "moments", but all in all, I think she did pretty well. 3 month sessions can be quite difficult anyway and hey - Braxton just knows what she wants, when she wants it. Sydney and Avery

Here is a preview of Sydney's 3 year session and her little sister, Avery's newborn session. Sydney was quite the little character. One word describes Peyton's one year session...BUSY! This little man was super busy and oh so serious. It took him a while to warm up, but I am such a sucker for serious looks. New pricing for 2011

Before you get nervous and exit the blog, hear me out. The new pricing is not a bad thing. I am not raising my prices, just changing things a bit. After many thoughts and feedback from clients, every 2011 Kerry Lee Photography session now includes the digital portrait package, meaning you will receive a CD containing your edited images with print release. I would say that 95%, if not more, of my existing clients choose the digital portrait package. So, to streamline things (both for myself and my clients), I am including the digital package in every session. No more session fees, no more complicated "rules". You will pay the same amount as before for the digital package, but minus the session fee. It's a great deal. So, in ways, my prices are actually going down :) If you purchased a gift certificate in 2010, you may choose either my 2010 (traditional) or 2011 pricing. I'm not trying to make anyone feel slighted. Also, if you are an existing baby plan member, you may stay with the plan you have or choose to switch over to the new one. It's completely up to you. All my pricing has been updated on the website www.kerryleephotography.com . Now, to update the galleries :) Please let me know if you have any questions. The "B" family

So, most of my clients are direct referrals from other clients. It's mostly word of mouth. So, I was a little taken back when I was contacted by someone from Boise, Idaho asking if I'd do a family session 2 days before Christmas. I know a lot of photographers take the month of December and/or January off to spend some time recouping from the craziness of Summer and Fall. And, maybe I should...but, sessions like these are so important and meaningful. See, all the "kids" and their spouses were coming home for the holidays, so what better time to do a family photo shoot. Family sessions are fun, but for the most part there's always someone or a few people (usually the men) who would rather be anywhere than to be stuck having their picture taken by some "stranger" (me). Wow - did this family prove my theory wrong. They were an absolute blast! All of them...even the guys, were up for anything. I had a great time joking with them while capturing what a fun-loving family they are. I love, love, love these girls!! I can honestly say that from the bottom of my heart. Hannah and Mara are my nieces. They did absolutely awesome for their yearly session. The two of them are incredibly photogenic and are up for just about anything. We took the opportunity to snap some family pictures as well, but knowing that the images will be used in their family Christmas card, I won't ruin that surprise. We had a fast, but fun time during the "T" family session. What a fun location! It had rained all day leading up to the session, but luckily, cleared up just in time. Cousins in the country - fun Fall session

These fun-loving cousins came for a session in the country. They had an absolute blast creating their own ideas and outfits. The 4 of them were all together after a wedding in town, so they figured they might as well get another day's use out of their wedding attire. What a great idea! Bella, sweet Bella. This little one has been coming to see me for her pictures since she was 3 months old. I love seeing my baby plan members growing up for that first year of life, but it's always bitter sweet. I will definitely miss seeing Bella and her parents every 3 months. Daniel and Morgan came over for a little fun in the sun. It wasn't real warm, but it sure was sunny. We spent most of the time either dodging the direct sun or waiting for the clouds. Cambree is 1!

Cute little Cambree...what a peanut! I did Cambree's pictures when she was 6 months and she was an itty bitty thing then. She still is. Just as petite as ever! She has such a sweet personality and piercing blue eyes. I am not one to "enhance" eyes to make them look unbelievable, and trust me - I didn't do it to her's either. Her eyes are the most amazing blue ever! And, what can I say about her birthday outfit...seriously?! Does it get any better than this? The other day, I met up with this silly group of cousins who were up for anything! These kids were so well behaved and I think they really had fun with their pictures. It was so stinkin' cold out that day and not one of these 4 kiddos complained. They were absolutely awesome to work with!
